Speaking as a long time DM though, I have to say it is typically very unrewarding as a DM to run a game for a group of overpowered PCs. Only play by post because I don’t have the time for anything more involved. Pathfinder, obviously, preferably with access to 3rd party content. If it supports growth up to a higher level later on, that’s fine. More specifically mechanically then: I’d like to play a PC in the lv10-20 range, maybe with other power increases if other want it like gestalt, mythic, or templates subject to discussion, accomplishing a lower leveled campaign or adventure path (I don’t mind a published campaign but if a DM wants to make their own to conform to the specifics of my request I certainly won’t stop them) which at least starts significantly lower than the PCs. Yes, an adventure might be suitable to start with lv1 characters, but what if a group of higher level adventurers decided to do it on a lark, since no one said a hero had to start weak? This could maybe even explore what happens when super strong PCs interact with a far weaker on average world, one where few things can even compare to them. ![]() Thus, I am thinking a compromise provided by a general scenario I’ve been interested in: having overpowered characters in a given setting. ![]() At the same time, I realize this is due to the fact that lower level content is easier to run, easier to balance. One of the things I’ve rarely gotten to do in Pathfinder is play things at higher levels, which to me is where the interesting stuff happens mechanically.
